Did you know that glitter jars are also called "calm bottles"? We have heard that therapist used them for emotional regulation, for kids and adults alike.
When your child is upset/frustrated, direct them to shake the bottle vigorously.
When they are finished, set the bottle down and watch the glitter fall with some breathing exercises.
Let's practise mindfulness at home.
- Recycled bottle
- Clear glue
1. Pour 2/3 of water, and 1/3 of glue in and shake.
2. Add in glitters/beads, shake again.
3. Drip 1-2 drips of paint.
4. Seal the bottle with a tape to avoid any leakage.
Play with variations of glue, water, and what goes into the bottle.
Tips: The more glue you used, the slower these glitters moves.
